Jacob is Eleven!

My baby boy just turned eleven! I can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday that he was born. Jacob is the most kind and obedient child. He has always been the one who needs a hug and still comes to give Dave and I hugs every night. I love that about him! He has a great smile and an amazing memory! It is almost scary because you have to watch what you say and do because he remembers everything!! He is an amazing athlete and loves most sports. He collects football cards and loves to play basketball. He is a major Carolina Panthers fan and loves to collect anything that has to do with the panthers! He puts up with a lot from his older brothers but the day will come when he is bigger and taller than both Zach and Caleb. Then they better watch out!! He is just a great kid and I am so glad I get to be his mom! Happy Birthday Jacob!! I Love You!

Blessings

I have been thinking quite a bit about all the blessings I have in my life. I know that with Thanksgiving just around the corner it gives us all time to reflect and be thankful. This week I attended the YW Night of Excellence and the new theme for 2009 was introduced. The theme for the year is "Joy in the Journey" I know that as I go through the daily routines of life, it is sometimes hard to find that joy. But as I have thought more about this I realize that we HAVE to make the time to reflect on the joys in our life. I am so grateful that I have the peace that comes from knowing and loving my Savior. I am thankful for a loving family with a husband who loves me and our children who wants to provide the best for us. I am thankful for the gospel that gives us guidelines and ways to improve ourselves. I am grateful for the scriptures that give me light and knowledge. I am so thankful for health. So many around us right now are going through so many trials with their health. It makes me grateful to be in good health so that I can care for them. I have so many blessings that to name them all would take a lifetime. But this is just my little reminder to find the joy in your journey and to take the time to reflect on the blessings in your life. And to also remember that each and every blessing we have is because of our Heavenly Father.

Happy (Belated) Birthday Kelsie!

Kelsie turned 15! It was a very crazy busy day and I hope she had a good day! She got to wear new basketball shorts and a new t-shirt to school and I sang my lovely Happy Birthday song to her on the way to Seminary. Her best friend Lizzy came and secretly decorated her room with bows and balloons. She even decorated Kelsie's bathroom! It was very festive! We opened presents right after school and then the kids had YM/YW they didn't get home until around 9 pm and then we sang and ate Funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting! Kelsie is the best daughter anyone could have! She is a great example to everyone she meets! I love her smile and her laugh! Happy B-day Kels! I love you!
